I was carved in the image of devotion.

The sacrificial lamb that leads itself to the slaughter

Ever so willing to lay myself at your feet, my beloved,
for the pleasure of your consumption.

And I believe that must've been a flaw in my design,
perhaps a sickness inherent,

Because I relish in the joys of martyrdom for a cause
who's contours nobody can define and who's name
nobody will remember


I was carved in the image of devotion

And I'm still thinking about the last
conversation we had.

You said you cared but that you didn't care
that much

And I felt embarrassed at the intensity of my character
